Rach and Roll

I'm not so rock 'n' roll anymore. My days are filled with this:

That is certainly not a complaint. This is just a smidgen of Rachmaninoff from one of my seniors. I'm going to miss him next year. This is the version where he isn't swearing after a mistake. That did crack me up though. You know they're cozy when the pottymouth slips out in a lesson.

Teaching is something I never thought I would do. Getting to know people like this student make me so thankful I was wrong.

  1. That was REALLY good. If I have you teach my DH how to play the piano like that, will he have rock hard forearms like that young chap too?? B/c his arms are SOLID...

  2. Ha. They are, aren't they? While I can recommend hours of Rachmaninoff for some mean arm muscles, I have to admit that this young man is a swimmer, a soccer player, and just does piano for "fun." He maybe spends a couple of hours a week? So, I don't think the piano can take credit for the mad muscles. Oh well.

  3. He plays a couple of hours a week but can tackle Rachmaninoff? I am impressed.

And jealous. Because I play the piano also.

But not Rachmaninoff. Too fast for me. Too complex for me. Too too for me.
